MattressRated Guide: Memory Foam Mattress Topper

Getting a mattress topper is a cheaper and more practical alternative for those of us who don’t want to spend a small fortune to replace a perfectly fine bed and a memory foam mattress topper is one of the best choices out there. There thousands of consumers out there who spend at least 3 to 6 months (or more) sleeping on a bed they have purchased before realizing that the bed that they have bought is not very suitable for him/her. I must confess that I am one of such persons.

By then, it may be too late to return the mattress so the next best thing to do is to get the right mattress topper. A memory foam mattress topper is one of the best choices that you can make as their comfort and support is legendary in the mattress industry.

Memory foams can form to the shape of your body and their good level of density provides plenty of supports. Many consumers have reported that their memory foam mattress topper has greatly helped in their body ache problems (do consult a doctor to see if a memory foam is the best choice for you).

Best of all, they are also very affordable. A good memory foam mattress topper would cost just around $100-$200. Just put it on the top of your bed and it is almost as good as having a brand new mattress. If it doesn’t work for you, you can always return it, give it away and get yourself another topper. You can pretty much put a memory foam mattress topper on any mattresses to get the best effect so long as the mattress below it is not too soft. If you plan to put the topper on a super soft mattress, the effects may not be ideal. Firm mattresses are the best for supporting new toppers.

There are many brands and types of toppers to choose from out there. Serta has always been one of my favorite brands and (not surprisingly, the Serta Ultimate memory foam mattress topper (4-inch) is one of my all time favorites. It has a 4lbs density, is hypoallergenic, temperature sensitive and not to mention oh-so-comfortable. Whatever your choice is, don’t forget to try one for yourself before making a purchase (like with any mattress, sheets or pillow purchases).
